Creating new quotes and drawings

To create a quote you first need to go to the relevant Lead, select the quote tab, and then the "Manage quotes " icon. This brings you to the quote overview where you add the items and the drawings for the quote.

  1. First, locate the relevant Lead, or create a new one (see Creating a Lead for guidance). Click the Quote tab, then select Manage Quotes on the right side of the screen.
  2. This will take you to the Quote Overview page. Begin by creating items using either Add Item or Add Items (the latter appears only if no items exist yet).
Each window or door you’re quoting requires a separate item, and each item can have multiple drawings attached. For each item, you’ll be asked to specify the elevation, floor, and room name or reference number.
  3. Next to one of your items, click the icon for a sash window, casement, or door. Alternatively, you can click More... to import an existing drawing from another Lead or Order.
  4. You’ll then see a list of templates. Select the one that best matches your needs. DrawingBoard will then open with the chosen template as your starting point.
  5. Once the drawing opens, resize and edit it as needed until you're happy with the result. Make sure to click "Save Drawing" before moving on.
  6. To work on the remaining items, either use the Switch Drawing button or return to the Quote Overview page. After all your items are ready, click the Open Quotes button in the Quote Overview page .

    Here, you’ll be able to:

    • Select the drawing you want to display for each item in the quote.

    • Click Update to apply your selections.

    • Create additional quotes by adding items to the other quote columns (e.g., Quote 2, Quote 3, etc.).

  7. Next, go to the Quote Matrix tab. Here, you can:

    • Select the quote you want to work on.

    • Change the price file and margin RNumbers for all items.

    • Update drawings (if you’ve made any changes) using the Update Drawings button at the bottom right of the items table (you will have to do this for brand new drawings as well).

    • Edit general quote details in the Quote Details table.

    • Generate a Quote Preview to see how everything will appear.

  8. When you're happy with your quote, you can finalise it by publishing. Keep in mind, you can always copy and republish a quote later if needed.
