Adding timber components to the Part List

Timber components such as surrounds and staff beads must be configured in the Part List in order to make them appear in the Component Editor within Drawing Board.

Note: This guide only applies if your integrate system is switched over to the new Part List based component system. If you are unsure, please contact Support.

  1. Go to the Part List and then the Timber tab.

  2. Click Add Part, or copy an existing part.

  3. Enter a Part No and Name.

  4. Set the Purchase Unit of M. and Allocated Unit of M. to metres. You will need to decide whether the part should be allocated purely by length (e.g. 2000mm of architrave) or by fixed length & quantity (e.g. 2 x 1000mm architraves). This only affects how the part is auto-allocated by part allocation rules.

  5. Set the Category and Group. Category is a general description of the part. It is a pre-defined list of options that determines which tab the component appears under in the Component editor. e.g. if you select Surround > Internal Architrave, the component will appear in the Surround tab of the editor, by clicking on  the Internal Architrave button.

Group is the drop-down next to  Category. This is a more specific description of the part, which is decided by the user. On the quote PDF, the component will be described as [Group name] [Category name]. e.g. the below configuration would be described as "3 inch Ogee Internal Architrave":

  6. Set an option for Stocked. Anything marked Non stocked will appear on the Additional Materials outputs; otherwise, it will appear on the Installation Materials outputs.

  7. Optionally, set the Fixed Width and Fixed Thickness of the component. If these boxes are ticked, the width and thickness will be pre-filled in the Drawing Board, and will not be editable.

  8. Set the Material. The material choice must be unique per Category and Group, so if I already have a 3 inch Ogee Internal Architrave in Tulipwood, I cannot create another one in Tulipwood, but I can create one in any other material. Click Create New Part.

  9. Once the part is added, it will be available for use in survey drawings straight away. For sales drawings, the price file will need to be updated or published, and the drawing switched to the latest price file.

For a component to appear in the Drawing Board it must have as minimum:

  • Part number and name (compulsory for all parts)
  • Category and group
  • Stocked must be set to something (it doesn't matter what)
  • A Material
